Olfactive Biosolutions, Inc. Announces Addition to Executive Team

Former CEO of Patagonia Provisions Joins as Chief Sustainability Officer

Sept. 15, 2023—Mountain View, CA.—Olfactive Biosolutions, which uses AI and olfactory receptor data to create new products and enable sustainability for customers in the food & beverage and consumer packaged goods industries, announced that Birgit Cameron, the cofounder and former CEO of Patagonia Provisions, has joined the firm as Chief Sustainability Officer, effective immediately.

Cameron joins cofounders Nils Lommerin, CEO, and Chris Hanson, Chief Strategy and Development Officer, who are using AI trained on the company’s vast taste and smell receptor data to significantly boost product success rates. Olfactive Biosolutions products cut development time and costs and increase clean label and sustainability while providing consumers with the exact taste and aroma they want.

Cameron brings innovative thinking and more than 20 years of leadership experience in sustainable food and beverage products to the company. She is currently an advisor and consultant to several innovative companies focused on a sustainable future for people and the planet.

“We are so pleased to have Birgit on the Olfactive Biosolutions team,” said Lommerin, CEO. “She is already making significant progress in our sustainability efforts across industries and her background and experience are a perfect fit for us as we grow,” he said.

“I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for Olfactive Biosolutions, and I look forward to being a strong contributor as the company expands its footprint in this large and growing industry,” Cameron said. “Sustainability is a passion of mine and I am pleased to use my talents and expertise to help make Olfactive Biosolutions a success,” she said.

Lommerin and Hanson cofounded Olfactive Biosolutions earlier this year. Its products apply AI to quantifiably measured taste and smell data, and are being used in new product development, recycling and sustainability. Total market size for AI in food alone is already $7 billion in the US; projections are for it to increase to more than $35 billion by 2028, a CAGR of 38 percent.

Lommerin is the former CEO of Del Monte Foods, where he increased shareholder value significantly and boosted revenue.

Hanson is the founder of Aromyx, which pioneered the measurement and digitization of taste and smell using olfactory and taste receptors.
