Repurposing Food Molecules to Achieve the Same Health Effects as Weight Loss Drugs and More With Protenx™
Olfactive Biosolutions Granted Third Dual GLP-1 / GIP Patent to Repurpose Food Molecules for Weight Management and Blood Sugar Regulation
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Olfactive Biosolutions, the leader in adapting food molecules to treat chronic diseases, was recently granted a third patent for inducing the secretion of GLP-1 and GIP, in U.S. patent US 12,171,727 B1 dated Dec. 24, 2024.
Transforming Health & Wellness with Olfactory, Taste and Ectopic Receptors
Benefits of Protenx Patented Formulations of Food Molecules vs. Pharmaceuticals:
Cost-Effective: Food molecules are often more affordable than pharmaceutical drugs, making them accessible to a wider population.
Low Risk of Side Effects: In contrast to pharmaceutical drugs, which often have a range of side effects, food molecules are generally safer and elicit minimal adverse reactions when consumed in appropriate amounts.
Natural Ingredients: Food molecules are derived from natural sources such as fruits, vegetables, grains, spices and herbs, making them more readily accepted by the body compared to synthetic pharmaceuticals.
Nutrient-Rich: Many food molecules promote overall health and well-being by containing essential nutrients, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytochemicals.
Proven Science: We hold numerous patents using food ligands to affect ectopic taste, olfactory and related receptors in order to treat diseases, including:
• U.S. patent 12,115,134, Compositions and Methods for Treating Endocrine Diseases and Disorders, shows methods to induce the secretion of GLP-1.
• U.S. patent 12,102,664, Compositions and methods for Treating Endocrine Diseases and Disorders, shows methods to induce the dual secretion of GLP-1 and GIP.
• U.S. patent 12,171,727, Compositions and methods for Treating Endocrine Diseases and Disorders, shows further methods to induce the dual secretion of GLP-1 and GIP.
• U.S. patent 12,102,611, Compositions and Methods for Treating Hypertension by Modulating Endocrine Activity.
• U.S. patent 12,186,299, Compositions and Methods for Treating Hypertension by Modulating Endocrine Activity.
We have additional patents pending for treating a number of chronic conditions.
Weight Loss Powered by Protenx
One example of using formulations of food molecules with ectopic receptors is for weight loss and blood sugar regulation.
Modern weight loss drugs are edited versions of GLP-1, a naturally occurring molecule. These edits make it last longer in the body, enhancing weight loss and blood sugar effects. Patients inject the modified GLP-1.
In our case, the consumer will ingest a formulation of food molecules -- one of the Protenx line of proprietary formulations -- that has been added to a product like coffee, energy bar, sports drink, or cookies.
Scientists tune the formulation to activate an ectopic receptor in the gut, specifically OR51E1, which then causes the generation of natural GLP-1.
Natural GLP-1
Natural GLP-1 doesn't endure as the pharmaceutical version does, but by activating the OR51E1, patients receive consistent GLP-1, mirroring the effects of the weight loss drug minus potential side effects. Unlike the edited drug molecule, the food molecules we use have been part of human diets for millennia.
Naturally Prolonging the Effect
OR51E1 remains active as long as it has access to the appropriate food molecules in our formulation. In time, we can tune the formulation to persist in the gut for as long as we need the increased GLP-1 levels.
This same approach applies to GIP (GIP is a naturally occuring molecule that has many of the same effects as GLP-1,).
We believe the same approach can induce desired physiologic benefits in many areas, including reducing inflammation, increasing bronchodilation, muscle mass, and bone remodeling.
